“Citric, floral, refreshing, lovely. You simply cannot go wrong with this wine. An every-day-drinker that works with or without food and won't disappoint for a special occasion. Your new favourite white wine.”
“A good Macon-Villages always feels like a well-kept secret. Often seen as the poor cousin to the other Burgundy regions, wines from here can shine and this is one of those. Texture, fruit, balancing acid, the lot. An absolute gem.”
“Sun-kissed peaches and white blossom notes are matched perfectly with biscuit and vanilla aromas. This is a banger for your buck and we suspect a crowd pleaser too. Refreshing and moreish, with citrus and lemon drops to finish.”
“Sangiovese is one of our favourite grapes, not least due to its versatility. Best known when delivered from the vineyards and wineries of Chianti, this wine is very different. Velvety smooth, super fruity, very well controlled tannin, great use of oak barrels to bring out a touch of spice and smoke and all kept fresh by the acidity. Marvellous.”
“Does what it says on the tin and really satisfies. You can't often beat Chile for value and this is a wonderful exponent of that. Blackcurrants, good acid and tannins ease you in. Like a very comfortable pair of well-priced trousers, you got from Asos, that look fly too.”
“Sultry and smokey with vanilla, spice and dark berry fruit, this low intervention wine is a barbequed dishes' best friend. Nicely refreshing, but still rich and deep. A go-to wine for lazy afternoons spent avoiding the smoke plumes from the small inferno lit by your pyromaniac mate, acting as 'chef' for the day.”
“The freshest strawberry smell combines with vanilla, redcurrant and lemon. This is very smashable rosé (smash - verb. - 'to drink at speed'). Essentially one bottle won't be enough. Now you see it now you don't wine.”
“This winery has really taken its rosé seriously here. A thinking drinkers drink and not for guzzling down too quickly. There's bright acidic crunchy cranberry, tangerine peel, green leaf, posh cream and smoke. This can be our little secret together. Shh!”
“A classic example of bone dry Provencal rosé. Apples 'n pears and citrus and a hint of red berries. Warm, long evenings and sun-baked beaches with azure blue sea-scapes and the occasional seagull swooping overhead. Summer holiday bliss...”
“Like its non-rosé sister, this easy-sipping summery fizz has all the right raspberry and strawberry notes to add to that lovely balanced fruitiness. Another Jaques Bruére with some proper age to it, that biscuitiness from it being made the same way as champagne is present and correct. Who needs pink champers when Cap Classique offers so much?”

MEET THE PRODUCERS
Nestled amongst the grapevines and rose bushes of South Africa’s beautiful Robertson Valley, Bon Courage Estate produces some of the finest wines this prestigious region has to offer.
With a multitude of soil types deposited by the rivers that run through it and with the many microclimates these bodies of water create, Bon Courage Estate is home to a wide range of grape varieties that make wines of great depth and concentration.
Since 1927 the estate has benefitted from the passionate hard work and dedication of 3 generations of the Bruwer family. André Bruwer, owner and viticulturist, acknowledges that good wine is grown and has put enormous effort into matching the right variety with the right soil type.
While tradition and generations-old methodology is greatly respected, Andre and his Cellar Master son Jacques have embraced and carefully interwoven modern techniques into the estate’s winemaking processes. It is by balancing the old and the new carefully and sympathetically that they nurture creative flexibility that shines through their wines.
