MEET THE PRODUCERS

Clonakilty

For nine generations, the Scully family have farmed a variety of crops on their coastal farm. The farm turned solely to the production of heritage barley with the 8th generation and Michael at the helm.

Their soil produces an exceptional whiskey-making raw ingredient, benefitting from Atlantic sea mist, plenty of rain and abundant ocean sea spray. Once harvested, dried and partially germinated, the distillery housing three gleaming stills, located in the heart of Clonakilty town receives this first-class malted barley. Opened in 2018 it has become an intrinsic part of any visitor’s Clonakilty experience.

Perched high on a cliff a few miles away, the warehouse receives the new make spirit and, through a combination of patient ageing and careful blending, the whiskey is finally made ready. Bottled and hand labelled on-site, Clonakilty is then shipped far and wide, winning fans wherever it’s tasted with its exceptional combination of delicious complexity and a smooth, easy-drinking character.

With commitments to sustainable farming and production practises and continued support of whale and dolphin conservation along their pristine coastline, the Scully family’s exceptional products make those lucky enough to drink them feel good inside in more ways than one.
