“Don't be put off by the somewhat 'generic' Bourgogne Rouge name. Rich with red cherries, red plums and red berries, this is good at room temperature, but pop it in the fridge for a bit and you'll never look back. The ultimate cool-drinking summer red? Mais oui!”
“Citric, floral, refreshing, lovely. You simply cannot go wrong with this wine. An every-day-drinker that works with or without food and won't disappoint for a special occasion. Your new favourite white wine.”
“Pinot grigio! Slightly worn-out words from the pub bar but this example doesn't belong there. This version is still easy drinking but all grown up from that mouthwash of yesteryear. Expect the smells of fleshy melon, white flowers, green herbs and smoke. Acidity is on the refreshing and bright side. Ding-a-ling!”
“Joven means young in Spanish, and that's not normally a word you want to associate with the red wine you're buying, but forget about any misconceptions you may have, this is a Summery red wine at its finest, still with great fruit and some complexity, you will be pleasing ALL the crowds.”
“Classic Savvy B from the Loire. Easy-drinking, crowd-pleasing, well-made wine for all occasions. It's a might-as-well-grab-a-case-and-stick-it-in-the-garage-so-we-always-have-a-decent-white-wine-when-we-need-it wine. Lovely.”
“Certainly more wildcat than a lap mog. This punches well above its price bracket. Smokey cashew nuts, bananas and grown-up grapefruit tickles. Meow indeed!”
“Sangiovese is one of our favourite grapes, not least due to its versatility. Best known when delivered from the vineyards and wineries of Chianti, this wine is very different. Velvety smooth, super fruity, very well controlled tannin, great use of oak barrels to bring out a touch of spice and smoke and all kept fresh by the acidity. Marvellous.”
