Luxury 6 - Christmas Dinner

£216.30 £173.70 Inc. Vat

Dine in luxurious style this Christmas. How about Champagne from a proper grower-producer (unlike the big names who buy their fruit)? Then a fantastic Californian Merlot – rich, full, elegant, decadent. A white alternative that’s creamy and round but still refreshing and mineral. Then a sumptuous Port with layers of dark fruity, nutty, chocolatey, caramel-y flavour.

  • Quinta da Pedra Alta Alta No. 10 - Ten year old Tawny Port

“Walnuts, dates and raspberry compote mingle in the glass with cigar box and Assam tea leaf aromas. Rich, pure and complex with a lovely balanced freshness. Don't wait around till next Xmas to treat yourself NOW.”

  • René Jolly Blanc de Blancs × 2

“Brioche bread used to be for dipping in coffee, now it's wrapped around every burger going. That bit of bakery is exactly the smell you get from this Champagne. There's no patty and sauce in this bun thankfully just; lemon curd, pear, lime zestiness and apricot. Not that we are doctors but this should be taken every evening before dinner, where possible.”

  • Peter Franus Wine Napa Valley Merlot × 2

“An absolute show stopper, that is so pure and faultless it's hard to find the words. A huge mouthful of plum, black olives, tar smoke, white balsamic, the smell of antique leather books and eucalyptus. This will pair best with a long pause for contemplation and discombobulation in the face of sheer excellence.”

  • Cape Chamonix Chardonnay Reserve

“If you are not into the smell of freshly baked croissants then you are in the wrong place. This one is rich and silky with wonderful whiffs of lemons, apple, green olives and a proper, French, buttery, bake-off.”

Cape Chamonix

Chamonix Wine Farm is nestled against Mont Rochelle mountain, deep within the rich wine-growing valley of Franschhoek in the Western Cape. Formerly part of historic La Cotte granted to the Huguenots in 1688, Chamonix today comprises some 248 hectares. Chris Hellinger, purchased the farm in the early nineties when it was predominantly an export fruit farm. With tenacity and vigour a replanting program began, steadily replacing fruit trees with noble French varieties of vines, and with an engineering background combined with old-world principles an underground cellar was built.
