Mikey - Founder & Managing Director


Wine lover, cocktail fanatic and all round booze hound. Having retrained a number of years ago by taking (many) exams at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), he thought it would be a good idea to get a couple of good mates together and start hometipple.

Having spent time working for wholesalers, distributors, producers, retailers and e-tailers, everything he’s done in his booze career to date has led him to this point... It’s basically his calling.

When he’s not compiling yet another snazzily coloured spreadsheet, he can be found walking his beloved French Bulldog, Shelby, cocktail-bar-hopping or seeking out the ultimate hot cross bun.

Nick - Head of Sales & Operations


A trained and experienced booze-monger with a degree in winemaking. Nick has made wine, beer, gin and mead all over the world. From Australia to Argentina, Germany to Croatia, California to Peckham, his impressive CV reads more like a Lonely Planet guide than a resumé.

An experienced bartender with an impressive knowledge of cocktails and how to make them way more complicated than necessary, his taste buds are incredibly well trained and he's therefore wonderfully picky.

An impressive home cook and obscure scrumpy cider fanatic, Nick loves nothing more than spending time on the beach, either in his home town of Brighton or back in his native Devon, barbecuing that day's catch whilst sipping a sea-chilled glass of Riesling.

Andrew - Head of Finance & Technology


Unlike Nick and Mikey, Andrew considers himself an enthusiastic booze layman. Having already benefited from hometipple's guiding hand, he is passionate about sharing this experience with others. With a background of 10 years in financial and business analysis, Andrew most recently ran a consultancy practice, helping start-ups develop and realise growth.

With a love for numbers and data, Andrew is responsible for managing company finances and developing the businesses technology platform, the black box behind hometipple’s insightful product pairings and customer recommendations.

Having recently relocated from London back to his native Edinburgh, Andrew has rediscovered a love for golf and can often be found hacking his way around a course, creating a few more bunkers with every round played. When he’s not braving the Scottish climate, Andrew enjoys sampling the many fine bars and restaurants the city has to offer, often in search of the perfect whisky sour, his all-time favourite tipple!
