Brioche bread used to be for dipping in coffee, now it’s wrapped around every burger going. That bit of bakery is exactly the smell you get from this Champagne. There’s no patty and sauce in this bun thankfully just; lemon curd, pear, lime zestiness and apricot. Not that we are doctors but this should be taken every evening before dinner, where possible.

MEET THE PRODUCERS
Champagne René Jolly is nestled amongst the gently rolling valleys of Landreville in Côte des Bar. The Jolly family who manages and owns the estate can trace their ancestor’s winemaking and grape growing efforts right back to 1737.
Being chemical-free in the vineyards and taking great care of their environment had resulted in an HVE Level 3 certification. This certification ensures the highest standards of biodiversity, phytosanitary strategy, fertilisation and water resource management have been achieved and recognised by one of France’s principal agencies safeguarding sustainable, ecological farming practices.
Growing around 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay on 13 Ha of vines across five vineyard sites, René Jolly grows, hand-harvests, vinifies and bottles all its wines. Unlike most of the larger and better-known Champagne houses, everything is undertaken in-house without any recourse to purchased grapes or subcontracted processes, ensuring only the highest quality, ripest fruit is used.
This ripeness can be tasted in the finished wines. Elegant, crisp and layered with delicious fruit intensity, they also express all the buttery, creamy, brioche and pastry characteristics for which the best of this region’s wines are famed.
