Floral and citrusy with a little sultana and honey thing going on. A touch of plimsole rubber reminds you it can only be Riesling. A long, lingering finish with loads of creamy mouthfeel, backed up by acidity that zips through everything. Just the ticket!

MEET THE PRODUCERS

Alexana

In 2003 Alexana, planted a 55-acre property in the Dundee Hills AVA of the Willamette Valley. The Vineyard is a bit of an outlier in the Dundee Hills as they are one of the few producers that have southwest facing vines as well as some of the vineyard being southeast facing. It means large parts of their vineyard enjoy the afternoon sun whilst also benefitting from the unobstructed cooling winds of the Pacific Ocean. Their site also has 18 registered soil types. Therefore, instead of laying down one massive blanket of vines, they decided to plant 4 varieties, across 32 different individual blocks, each on different aspects and elevations, exploiting the versatility of the soil variation. Bryan Weil is the winemaker and uses a three-story, gravity-flow winery to produce some of the Valley’s most sought-after wines. They dry farm, are producing organically, and over recent years have been incorporating some of their favourite aspects of biodynamics.
